Shopper Marketing Manager

Location: Remote (Western Region, U.S.)

Reports To: Senior Director of Shopper Marketing

Status: Full-Time, Exempt

Travel: 50-60% domestic travel required

Salary Range: 130k – 150K

USA Pears is seeking a dynamic, results-driven Shopper Marketing Manager to lead retail marketing efforts within the Western Region of the and designated national accounts. This remote role is responsible for developing and executing strategic shopper marketing programs that drive retail sales, strengthen customer relationships, and support the successful movement of Northwest pears throughout the season.

Key Responsibilities

Retail Account & Territory Management

·        Leverage existing relationships while developing and managing key strategic partners within retail and wholesale customers.

·        Create and execute seasonal marketing and merchandising programs that drive sales and category growth.

·        Analyze account performance using retail and category management data from platforms such as Circana, Nielsen, SPINS, and 84.51.

·        Develop customized recommendations, merchandising strategies, and promotional plans based on retail insights and market opportunities.

·        Negotiate and manage promotional programs, including:

o  In-store sampling

o  Display contests

o  Digital coupons

o  Loyalty programs

o  E-commerce initiatives

o  Local events

o  Other volume-driving promotions

·        Collaborate with sales organizations and internal marketing teams to optimize program effectiveness and retailer engagement.

·        Manage assigned budgets and ensure compliance with organization funding guidelines.

Communication & Relationship Building

·        Serve as a primary representative of USA Pears to retailers, wholesalers, growers, shippers, vendors, and industry partners.

·        Conduct in-person meetings, virtual presentations, phone calls, written communications, and in orchard tours.

·        Deliver presentations and participate in public speaking opportunities at industry events and conferences.

·        Prepare promotional agreements, reports, market updates, and success stories for leadership, board members, and industry stakeholders.

Travel & Industry Engagement

·        Travel extensively throughout your assigned territory and North America to support customer relationships and marketing programs.

·        Attend trade shows, conventions, industry meetings, and consumer-facing events.

·        Participate in retail activations and promotional events, including sampling and retailer support activities.

·        Manage travel logistics, including flights, lodging, and transportation arrangements.

·        Attend semi-annual team meetings and other company-sponsored events.

Data Analysis & Reporting

·        Conduct store visits, ad tracking, sales performance reviews, and market analysis.

·        Maintain accurate data records and reporting within company systems.

·        Utilize data and insights to develop marketing strategies, improve program performance, and support future planning.

·        Contribute to the overall domestic marketing strategy through analysis and recommendations.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

·        Bachelor's degree preferred, or a minimum of three years of food industry experience.

·        Experience in retail marketing, shopper marketing, category management, or produce merchandising.

·        Knowledge of retail produce buying practices and operations.

·        Existing US grocery retail and wholesale relationships

·        Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.

·        Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

·        Ability to work independently and effectively from a home office environment.

·        Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

·        Ability to travel regularly and manage a flexible schedule.

·        Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

 Preferred Qualifications

·        Experience using retail data and analytics platforms such as Circana, Nielsen, SPINS, and 84.51.

·        Strong understanding of data-driven marketing and promotional strategy development.

·        Prior CPG Sales and Marketing experience a plus.
