Job Description: 

JOB SUMMARY:  The Grape Lotting Manager works closely with the QC Manager and other quality control staff to evaluate, categorize, and rotate all existing grape inventory as it pertains to sales orders. Scope includes House Pack, Repack and Coordination with Sales.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:  The Grape Lotting Manager will report directly to the Quality Assurance Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Oversee the lotting of sales orders, ensure proper rotation of inventory, coordinate with House Pack with any special orders for grapes at all cold storages;
  • Lot all daily sales orders to ensure all customers receive quality product;
  • Communicate and coordinate daily with QA manager about daily or upcoming sales orders or any inventory issues to help minimize any rejections or quality issues at customer end;
  • Monitor and maintain proper rotation and age of grape inventory, communicate with Quality Assurance manager and QA team of any inventory or sales order issues at cold storage level that may occur;
  • Champion positive and effective employee relations, employee safety, and food safety compliance to reduce the risk of product loss;
  • Assist in the training, mentoring and evaluation of employee performance to continually improve operational performance and standards;
  • Ensure employees are aware of and follow all company policies, practices and procedures; and,
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by company management.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, preferably in perishable food products;
  • Bachelor's degree in an applicable area of study or equivalent work experience; and,
  • Possession of a CDL and an acceptable driving record insurable by the company’s insurance provider.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong decision-making, analytical and organizational skills;
  • Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form across all levels of the organization;
  • Proficient with programs in the MS Office suite with particular skill in Excel;
  • Knowledge of Food Safety, HACCP, GMPs, and Organic Standards;
  • Knowledge and experience with receiving, produce fumigation, packing, and shipping protocols;
  • Ability to train, develop, lead and motivate staff for consistent quality and productivity;
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities projects and tasks;
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, work in close proximity to moving equipment, bend stoop, kneel and perform repetitive motion as required to perform the essential duties of the job for long periods at a time; and,
  • Ability to work extensive hours, second shift (when necessary), weekends, and to be very flexible to compliment seasonal operations and demands of the job to continue the Company’s success.

COMPENSATION:

  • Hourly compensation offered is $22-$25.
