Facilities Manager (Warehouse)

Job Description: 

Worldwide Produce is currently seeking a Facilities Manager (Warehouse) for the Night position. Qualified candidates must be HAACP certified and bilingual in English/Spanish. This person will supervise  the Maintenance Dept, Fleet Dept & will assist the Warehouse Manager with HACCP/OSHA Compliance.

Compensation/Salary: 
$1000 per week
Requirements: 
  • Must be HAACP certified
  • Must be bilingual in English/Spanish. 
Responsibilities & Duties: 

DUTIES:

  • To embrace all safety guidelines, train and document the trainings.
  • Document and maintain a record of all meeting minutes.
  • Ensure documentation of all essential HACCP and OSHA records are current and meet the required frequency of documentation.
  • Schedule and lead weekly safety meetings. Document minutes.
  • Administer the safety section of all new hire orientations.
  • Ensure repairs related to physical safety are addressed. Follow through until repairs are completed. Document all safety related repairs.
  • Ensure legal compliance with regards to frequency of standard trainings.
  • Assist all inspectors during entire inspection process.
  • Comply with all OSHA and HACCP record keeping requirements.
  • Report all inspection report results to the appropriate departments with action steps to resolve issues.
  • Work with department leaders to correct issues before inspections. Be proactive.

FLEET:

  • Make and maintain drivers’ files in compliance with DOT and company requirements. Includes checking previous employment references.
  • Coordinate drug screens; appointments for medical card recertification and employees requiring medical care.
  • Coordinate, track and review accident claims from reporting to conclusion.
  • Prepare records and Excel and electronic reports pertaining to accidents such as accidents/incidents.
  • Audit and approve for payment invoices for drug screens, background checks and other safety orders and request payment.
  • Assist in coordinating training activities and apprentice program with other supervisory personnel and employees.
  • Implement company and departmental policies, procedures, and service standards in conjunction with management.
  • Resolve customer complaints and answer customers' questions regarding policies and procedures.
  • Interpret safety policies and procedures and be able to provide employees guidance in fulfilling their safety responsibilities.
  • Discuss work problems or grievances with HR.
  • Update procedures, policies, and standards
  • Assure that trucks are clean and in good operating order and documentation is up-to-date. (This includes registration, insurance, fire extinguishers, etc., and daily inspection for damages and/or abuse).
  • Maintain service and repair files on each truck.
  • Obtain pre-approval for out-of-the ordinary (costly) service & repair expenses
  • Approve bills on service & repair.
  • Work with fuel suppliers and approve gas bills.
  • Schedule trucks preventive maintenance.
  • Rotate trucks to balance mileage usage.
  • Assure that our trucks and their usage is in compliance with local, state and federal (DOT) regulations.
  • Train drivers on proper handling of the vehicles and safety requirements.
  • Coordinate and resolve issues with DMV and CHP.
  • Report driver issues and policy violations to Driver.
  • Direct recovery of roadside vehicle malfunctions.
  • Identify and report vehicles to be replaced or sold to Owners.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of driver policies, procedures and other programs designed to enhance financial effectiveness and operational efficiency of the equipment and the drivers.
  • Assist with the processing of insurance claims involving company vehicles.
  • Determine truck rental needs and coordinate through Supervisor.
  • Preparation and maintenance of a variety of reports, records and files related to vehicles, maintenance, repairs, projects, mileage, and financial activities.

PARKING AREA:

  • Assure that parking area is clean and properly maintained, and not used as a storage yard.
  • Organize employee parking so that cars, trucks and employees are not in conflict.

Key job tasks of Maintenance Manager

  • Communicates directly with the operations department to coordinate maintenance and repair work in process areas.
  • Create & implements programs, schedules, and procedures required to ensure plant cleanliness.
  • Assists with planning and implementing plant improvements and expansions.
  • Conducts employee performance reviews based on job descriptions to determine competency, knowledge, and contribution of the maintenance technicians. Maintains and updates operating and training manuals for the maintenance department. Equipment: Baler, Forklifts, Pallet jacks. Responsible inventory and sale of Pallets.
  • Ensures that maintenance technicians are adequately trained, equipped, and motivated so that the maintenance program can be accomplished in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner. Communicates regularly with all maintenance technicians, both individually and as a group, to ensure good two-way communication concerning maintenance issues.
  • Initiates and carries out projects that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs.  Summary of essential job functions It is expected that all employees work with safety in mind at all times. Be aware of your surroundings. Wear appropriate safety shoes and head coverings as required by our HACCP policy. Follow proper lifting techniques and never place yourself in an unsafe situation.
