Job Description: 
We are a 3rd generation progressive farming company located near Los Banos, California. We are currently looking to add an experienced Chief Financial Officer to our management team. The CFO’s primary function will be to optimize the company’s profits and provide a financial strategy for sustainable growth while minimizing risks of a multi-entity endeavor. The CFO will provide leadership and oversite of the accounting department and cultivate investors and banking relationships.

Requirements: 
 
  • The CFO must be knowledgeable in financial planning and strategy, managing profitability, strategic planning, forecasting, corporate finance, developing budgets, financial skills, and dealing with complexities.
  • The CFO must have strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis.
  • The CFO must have a high level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation.
  • The candidate CFO should have a master's degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent business experience and 10+ years of progressively responsible experience for a major company or division of a large corporation.
  • Should have experience in partnering with an executive team and have a high level of written and oral communication skills. Preference will be given to candidates with an MBA in Finance, CPA, CMA, or agricultural experience.
  • Must be willing to work onsite in the Los Banos office.

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Oversee the Company's financial and accounting functions including staff supervision and final review of financial reporting.
  • Provide timely and accurate analysis of budgets, crop costs, and economic trends to assist the CEO and other senior executives with maximizing financial performance of the Company.
  • Develop & implement tax strategies in cooperation with tax advisers.
  • Oversee the company's transaction processing systems and implement reliable controls.
  • Oversee employee benefit plans.
  • Maintain appropriate insurance coverage to minimize risk for the Company.
  • Assure legal and regulatory documents are filed and monitor compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Arrange for appropriate levels of debt financing.
  • Maintain banking relationships by providing timely financial analysis, forecasting covenant compliance and reviewing equipment and loan terms.
  • Final review of financial statement audit with outside Accounting firms.
  • Analyze feasibility of capital investments and negotiate new purchases as approved by management.
  • Account for all fixed assets on both book and tax basis.
  • Participate in critical decisions as a member of the leadership team.
  • Serve as a director on the Company Board.
