Job Description: 

Primary responsibilities are to manage and execute daily operations of a fresh berry shipping organization. This position requires a high level of coordination with Berry Fresh Sales office, shipping/receiving transportation logistics department, and third-party cooling warehouse operations. 

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Direct the activity of Berry Fresh personnel for our New Jersey location
  • Manage and supervise activities for Quality Control (QC), shipping/receiving, and administrative functions
  • Coordinate with third-party handling and cold storage facilities for inventory management
  • Receiving, shipping, customer order fulfillment, and inventory management
  • Execute daily physical inventory counts and maintain detailed lot-level reporting
  • Schedule product reprocessing as necessary – sorting, labeling, conversion
  • Coordinate with Sales and Operations teams at Berry Fresh headquarters
  • Maintain receiving and shipping of transfers and orders in Famous ERP software
  • Communicate details of QC arrival inspections and distribute QC reports
  • Build orders to meet customer requirements for packaging and fruit quality specifications
  • Coordinate with Packaging Supply and Replenishment Manager for product sourcing and inventory management
  • Provide all necessary support for Regulatory Compliance programs
  • Facilitate USDA inspections, obtain all required documentation for exportation of fruit
  • Maintain all company GMP and HACCP protocols

Qualification:

  • Minimum five years’ experience in fresh produce handling operations supervising personnel
  • Handling of fresh berries preferred
  • Strong technical aptitude
  • Experience with ERP, WMS, and Microsoft Excel – Famous experience preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • Weekend work will be required
