Job Description:
The Food Safety Practitioner will be responsible for compliance of all food safety policies and regulations for the facility. This position will work with management develop, implement and enforce Food Safety and Security standards, policies, and programs including food security, HACCP system, regulatory audits, quality systems review process (QSR), food safety training program, standard operating procedures (SOP’s), product inspections, food safety audits, and standardized work instructions.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Maintain documentation such as standard operating procedures and maintenance of manuals, policies and procedures
- Provide training and maintain all training records for food safety and quality requirements
- Perform or oversee monitoring, verification, and validation activities to ensure that all products leaving the facility meet food safety and quality standards
- Conduct facility food safety audits and manage third party auditing programs
- Redesign and update site plans whenever there is a change to program, process, procedure
- Work with General Manager on any food safety issues or corrective actions
- Ensure that the company’s food safety procedures are followed at all times
- Ensure proper sanitation and maintenance of facility
Skills:
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with DiMare Fresh personnel, customers, shippers and peers
- Ability to self-start and to work with minimal supervision
- Strong verbal and written communication skills

Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of food safety experience in the fresh produce industry under HACCP, USDA and/or FDA
- Comprehensive knowledge of HAACP, GMPs, and GAPs
- Knowledge of the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA)
- Previous experience with Safe Quality Foods (SQF), GFSI, PrimusGFS, BRC and/or USDA audits preferred
