Job Description: 

Milne Fruit Products is seeking a qualified Procurement and Supply Chain Manager for our growing company.  The Procurement and Supply Chain Manager is responsible for the effective management, direction, control, evaluation and risk management of Raw Fruit Procurement, Packaging and Production Supplies Purchasing, and Grower Relations.  Strong analytical skills, planning, and supply chain management are required.

The Procurement and Supply Chain Manager strategically manages the effective negotiation of price, delivery and acquisition of high quality raw product, ensuring effective and safe coordination/control of all raw product and distribution activities with production operations.  This person will work closely with the Commercial team (Procurement and Sales) to respond to changing needs, pricing, and supplies.

This position supervises three direct reports and reports to the Commercial VP.  The successful candidate will have a strong analytical and business background, be able to travel and have related industrial experience.

This is a full-time position located in downtown Prosser, WA and includes a full benefit and paid leave package. Salary is DOQ.  A pre-employment drug screen, background check and reference check will be completed before final hire. Position open until filled.  No phone calls.  EOE

Position Reports to: 
Commercial VP
Requirements: 
  • Five (5) years’ experience in increasingly responsible related positions.
  • Leadership skills.  Project and goal oriented.
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to think creatively to identify business opportunities.  Able to provide proactive solutions with limited direction and input. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. 
  • Financial and business analysis skills to use and create Excel models for purchasing/cost analysis, supply/inventory management and risk assessment.  Detail oriented and able to review numbers for “common sense”.  Able to analyze data and make recommendations.
  • Knowledge of raw fruit quality issues and experience in a food/beverage manufacturing environment preferred but not required.
  • Sound knowledge and experience with principles and practices of business administration including personnel practices, employment laws and fiscal management practices; and the appropriate methods and means of dealing with human behavior situations in a variety of circumstances.  
  • Proven ability to recruit, train, and motivate personnel in order to balance staffing strength with profitability and growth.
  • PC-based computing experience (Word, Advanced Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).  Advanced math and Excel skills required.
  • MS Dynamics-NAV (ERP data system) experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to travel and use public transportation nationally and internationally (30% travel).
  • APICS certification preferred
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Education: 
  • BS/BA in business, horticulture, agriculture or related subject.
