Job Description:
This individual will work hands on monitoring the crops to optimize our integrated pest management program and minimize diseases. This individual will ensure that top quality grown products will always be made available to meet our customer’s demands.
Working Conditions
- Greenhouse Environment, where the temperature averages 70°F and background noise approaches 70 dcbs.
- Position requires sitting, standing, and walking on a regular basis
- Visual and audio sensory are needed regularly
- Must have manual dexterity to perform computer skills, and operate equipment
- Continuous interaction with various departments and colleagues
- Ability to make changes as needed without advance notice

Requirements:
- Pesticide License or Assistant’s License.
- Horticulture / Greenhouse Certification.
- Good communicator verbal / written.
- Well organized and a self starter.
- Related work experience with pesticide license.
- Knowledgeable of horticultural pests and disease identification.
- Experience in hydroponic growing industry an asset.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Supervision of IPM protocols to pest and disease management as well as compiling IPM and conventional reports for management review and action planning.
- Monitoring and scouting of pests and diseases.
- Reporting and drawing data of infestation, infection and deficiency levels.
- Monitor efficiency of products used for control measures.
- Verification of pest and disease infestation trends.
- Coordinating with management on all biological programs and implementation.
- Verifying / validating of scouting reports to confirm accuracy and reliability.
- Ensuring management plants / intentions on plant health are implemented in a timely manner.
- Facilitating trials on new products prior to commercial use within the farm.
- Ensuring product orders for scouting purposes are placed on time.
- Maintaining up to date records and reports.
- Plan, organize, train, and assign scout duties are required.
- Providing support and adhering to our Food Safety & Health and Safety programs / policies/ processes.
- Other duties as assigned from time to time.
