Harvest Maintenance Supervisor

Job Description:

We have an opening on our team for a Harvest Maintenance Supervisor in King City, CA with relocation to Yuma, AZ for the winter months. 

As the Harvest Maintenance Supervisor you are responsible for supervising our mechanics who diagnose and repair our harvest machines and equipment.

Requirements: 
  • Must have mechanic experience
  • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) desirable
  • Must have leadership skills
  • Ability to follow-through on assignments and be directed
  • Ability to understand and enforce all company safety rules

  • Keeps well organized paperwork and timesheet records
Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Supervises Harvest Mechanics and their work schedules.
  • Teaches and attends periodic tailgate training meetings and other Company training as directed.
  • Reports all accidents immediately to the General Manager and Company Safety Representative.
  • Oversees the diagnosis and repair of Company Harvest Machines and Equipment, taking a turn in the rotation for after hour calls.
  • Designs a fair after hour response schedule and requires compliance of the team members.
  • Oversees the ordering of parts and supplies necessary to effect repairs, keeping accurate records of parts, fluids and supplies all indexed to the Company Equipment number. Keeps Harvest Managers updated on repair status of mission-critical equipment.
  • Orders and restocks an inventory of frequently used parts and supplies and ensures a systematic replacement policy to keep adequate levels of each.
  • Ensures industry accepted methods for tear-down using accepted techniques to facilitate ease of re-assembly.
  • Trains less experienced team members, backing them up when repairs exceed workers experience and technical expertise. Encourages improvement of team members in knowledge and ability constantly.
  • Oversees thorough review of each piece of equipment in the Harvest fleet at the beginning of each season, returning each to its optimum condition.
  • Complies with and enforces all Company Lockout/Tagout provisions, carefully reducing stored energy in equipment to be locked out of service and placing warning tags in appropriate locations.
  • Keeps a watchful eye on Company property, equipment, supplies and assets.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Management.
