JOB FILLED - Human Resources Manager

Job Description: 

The Human Resources (HR) Manager will be responsible for to overseeing all aspects of Human Resources practices and procedures. The goal of the position is to support business needs and enable business success through human resources management; including payroll processing, employee relations, compensation and benefits administration, development of employment policies, employee record-keeping, worker's compensation/ employee safety, and compliance with Federal and State laws and regulations.

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Prepare and maintain accurate employee records, files, and reports.
  • Process weekly payroll by overseeing time clock enrollment, time sheet approvals, as well as monitoring regular time, overtime and double-time for up to 250 employees.
  • Responsible for all hiring and recruitment.
  • Plan and conduct new employee orientations to meet all production needs and positive attitude towards the company’s culture.
  • Provide employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages, and opportunities for promotion and employee benefits.
  • Administer compensation, benefits, worker’s compensations, and safety programs.
  • Advise managers on organizational policy matters such as equal employment opportunity and sexual harassment, and recommend needed changes.
  • Serve as a resource for management in handling employee issues and assist them in counseling employees, conducting evaluations, staff training, problem-solving and consensus-building.
  • Conduct exit interviews to identify or informs reasons for employee termination.
  • Ensure compliance with all laws and regulations and demonstrates “best practices” in regards to employee information management. Advise on employment statutes, rules, regulations and policies affecting employees.
  • Assist management in planning and directing activities, explaining and implementing decisions, and resolving significant issues involving employees.
  • Provide leadership in effective conflict resolution for all employees.
  • Meets with the management team regularly to discuss short-term and long
  • term objectives, strategic planning to meet those objectives, and
  • implementation of the plans.
  • Manage actions and proceedings brought against the company arising in connection with employment, benefits and worker's compensation issues, including preparation of responses to EEOC charges and management of outside counsel.
  • Serve as a resource for all employees by being available and accessible to discuss all human resources related issues during office hours.
  • Communicate with employees on HR-related issues.
  • Receive any employee complaints and conduct investigations as needed. Communicate complaints and investigation results to the management team.
  • Oversee handling of employment-related inquiries, such as employment verification requests and unemployment compensation inquiries and proceedings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Controller or other senior management. 
Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR Management or related field.
  • At least five (3) years of professional experience across all HR disciplines, including employment, benefits, compensation, employee relations, training and development, workers compensation and conflict resolution.
  • PHR/SPHR certification preferred.
  • Experience working with a diverse workforce.
  • Fluency in Spanish preferred.

Work Environment:

  • Ability to work in an office, warehouse and field setting.
  • Position may require extended hours including evenings and weekends, travel to multiple work sites and occasional out-of-town travel.
