Responsible for taking full ownership of the A/R and Collections function at a medium size company; tracking and resolving outstanding payment issues and generating weekly and monthly aging reports in a timely manner.
- Make Weekly collection calls
- Invoicing
- Conduct account research and analysis
- Prepare and maintain various reports
- Maintain an accurate aging report
- Identify and execute the necessary process adjustments
- Send statement to outstanding customers
- Month end AR/GL Receipt Reconciliation
- Interact with customers to resolve outstanding issues
- Cash Receipts
- Process Credit applications
- Month end reports

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Part-time supervision of one supporting staff member. No responsibility for costs, methods or personnel.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- A.A. Degree from two-year college or technical school in accounting and over five years up to and including seven years of related experience and/or training in accounts receivable and collections; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Heavy collections experience required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS EXPERIENCE
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS EXPERIENCE
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
COMPUTER SKILLS
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of: Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook Communication Management software, Word, and Excel. Experience with Accounting software, and FAMOUS inventory management software; and experience with Internet usage, PC and/or MAC and Windows.
- Valid State Driver’s License.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Data entry skills, detail-oriented, strong customer service and negotiation skills. Positive and proactive attitude, strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize and multitask and be a strong communicator, both paper and over the phone. He or she will frequently deal with higher levels of management.
