JOB FILLED - Operations Manager

Job Description: 
The Operations Manager will drive the performance of the production plant to produce the safest, highest quality product at a competitive cost.

Requirements: 
  • As the Factory Manager, you will be responsible for the daily coordination, improvement and execution of all food manufacturing operations; overseeing production and maintenance
  • You will be accountable for cost management, including equipment efficiencies, waste, direct labor and materials, while generating reports on these financial targets and other KPl's
  • You will be driven by targets and have a proven track record of managing and motivating a production facility to deliver quality output in a fast-paced environment
  • With the assistance of both the VP Operations and other colleges, you will contribute to the formulation and implementation of an operations strategy up to six months ahead to meet anticipated business requirements                                                                                     ·
  • You will highlight areas of underperformance and take mitigating action that will deliver labor/waste targets and provide inspirational leadership and direction to the production community to ensure that people are kept safe, engaged, focused and delivering to their potential
  • You will drive the employee safety program of the production department, by creating and managing an operations safety committee, empowering employee involvement and providing  resources to eliminate safety hazards
Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Deliver all Production KPI's and budgets to target
  • Drive Cost Efficiency projects to deliver cost base improvements
  • Ensuring adherence to plan and control of all manufacturing management activities
  • Identify training and development needs of staff
  • Promote a Continuous Improvement culture, encouraging TQM and Lean Manufacturing approaches
  • Have overall accountability for all aspects of manufacturing performance, health, safety and environmental impact at the manufacturing facility
  • Be responsible for total site manufacturing headcount based at the business unit site
  • Consistently identify opportunities to improve quality and reduce cost
  • Create an environment conducive to personal development to ensure a robust succession pool
Qualifications: 
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a management position
  • Minimum 5 years' previous foodservice/retail manufacturing experience
  • Ability to demonstrate effective decision making skills
  • Able to communicate effectively at all levels
  • The management of a variable skills level team
  • Strong leadership skills
