Coleman Agriculture is a family farm in the 150-mile long Willamette Valley of Oregon and was established in 2014 as a startup but with roots that date back six generations.
 
We manage over 8,500 acres of land, cultivating some of the highest quality crops you’ll find anywhere. One of our specialties is the 23 varieties of hops that we grow, which are used in craft beer and microbreweries.  We also produce hazelnuts, seed crops and many types of vegetables.

If you have a passion for farming and experience managing a large hop farm, we would love to hear from you.  We’re seeking an experienced Farm Manager with a strong background in horticulture, farm operations, quality, and productivity.
 

Compensation/Salary:

Requirements: 
  • A minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in an agricultural field of studies, such as soil science or agronomy or equivalent experience
  • Five years of experience in farm production management
  • Must have Experience with hops
  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills
  • Proven ability to effectively build and manage a team-oriented culture
  • Must have a mechanical aptitude, irrigation knowledge and trellising
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communications skills
  • Must be able to troubleshoot and be resourceful
  • Results oriented manager
  • Ability to plan and to look at the whole picture
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Direct and coordinate the overall operations of the farm
  • Manage a team of regular, seasonal and contract employees. Responsible for leadership, hiring, training and coaching in a harmonious working climate, while maximizing employee morale and productivity
  • Overall operations of the farm, including farm development, stringing, training, irrigation, application/pest management, trellising, and harvesting
  • Establish goals and direction while strategically planning all projects
  • Identify equipment improvements, changes, and replacements
  • Budget and manage farm to ensure efficient/profitable operations and ongoing fiscal responsibilities
  • Proven ability to communicate and work with all levels of management
