Job Description:
Under minimal supervision from the Food Safety director, reviews current food safety programs for completeness, updates and documents program requirements, maintains food safety program information, assists in food safety audit preparation, confidentially provides administrative assistance to the Food Safety Department. This position will interact with the Sales department to meet customer food safety documentation requirements. This hourly position will require intermittent travel between the Northern and Southern region.

Requirements:

Knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), current Good Agricultural Practices (cGAPs), HACCP, FDA Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA)

Minimum of 2 years in active participation in an established food safety program in agriculture

Some background in Organic standards preferred

AA degree in a science discipline preferred

Well organized

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word, and Excel

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure

Able to handle multiple tasks

Good verbal and written communication skills

Bilingual (speaking, reading and writing) in English and Spanish required

Able to relocate part of the year to Yuma, AZ.

Work schedule will include overtime and occasional weekends

Valid driver license and clean driving record
Responsibilities & Duties:
-
Compare company food safety programs against third party program requirements to ensure compliance is met.

Develop documentation to meet established food safety program standards as required third party entities and customers.

Maintain and update FDA Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) program documentation.

Maintain confidential food safety files in an orderly fashion.

Travel to other company locations to assist in program review and audit assistance as needed.
