Job Description:

Our vision is to be the one-stop resource providing safety, health, human resources and food safety solutions for the agricultural industry. 
 
We have an immediate opening for an Educational Specialist.  This position does not have to be based in Modesto, the location of the AgSafe office. Given the amount of travel required, the individual may work from home, or AgSafe may find remote office space.
 
The primary responsibilities of the Educational Specialist is to assist in the execution of safety and human resources training programs, including curriculum development, evaluation, and updates as necessary, as well as course delivery. The position will aid in conducting safety and human resources voluntary audit programs, including audit delivery, process management and system improvement; and serve as a Spanish-bilingual staff resource.

Compensation/Salary: 
50k - 62,500k DOE
Requirements: 
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of state and federal occupational safety, health, human resources and food safety laws and regulations
  • Provide effective, interactive training integrating a variety of educational tools, including but not limited to agricultural equipment and technology
  • Speak, read and write Spanish and English fluently
  • Use a computer and other office machines including printers, copiers, mail machine and calculator
  • Prepare clear and concise correspondence, memorandum, reports, and other written material
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with the President and CEO, Director of Education, co-workers, members, and clients, orally and in writing
  • Troubleshoot and solve problems
  • Manage time and multi-task efficiently
  • Organize and prioritize tasks
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work including members, vendors, seminar and training participants

  • Travel between 60-75% of the workweek, with the heaviest amount occurring between January – April each year
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of relevant agricultural safety, human resources, business administration and/or food safety experience
Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Develop new curriculum and resources as new topics are assessed requiring specific training programs
  • Create holistic training and resource evaluation tools to determine the effectiveness of curriculum, changes in knowledge and the quality of services provided
  • Update existing curriculum and resources to reflect regulatory changes and ensure that materials are fresh, dynamic and address the cultural, literacy and learning challenges of our diverse audience
  • Deliver AgSafe training courses
  • Conduct safety and human resources voluntary audits, including conducting pre-audit interviews, reviewing existing safety and human resource materials, making on-site visits, developing review documents, and providing necessary follow-up, in some instances on an on-going basis
  • Review and improve the existing audit process, as needed
Skills: 
  • Provide Spanish-bilingual support, which includes, but is not limited to
  • Assist Spanish-speaking AgSafe members, program participants, donors and other individuals by telephone, email, in writing, and in person at the AgSafe office, all AgSafe programs and in other environments, as needed
  • Translate documents from English to Spanish and Spanish to English, as needed
  • Proof read existing documents for accuracy
  • Other applicable duties as assigned
  • Serve as back-up support to other members of the AgSafe staff, and other duties as assigned
