H&A Farms is a grower owned and operated blueberry packing facility located in Mount Dora, Florida. With the experience of growing fresh fruits and vegetables in Central Florida since 1952, the Hill and the Atwood families came together to provide a service to the local community as well as a direct source of sales to retail chains. H&A Farms strives to provide the safest and highest quality product to consumers on a daily basis. From the farm to the table we proudly serve our customers.
Our growth has prompted us to develop our own trucking/logistics division to transport blueberries through out the season, and the remainder of the year to act as an independent trucking/logistics company. And now we need a Transportation/Logistics Manager to take charge of this division.
We're looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic, and highly motivated problem-solver who lives and breathes transportation and logistics. No detail is too big or too small to be overlooked.
In this position, the candidate is responsible for coordinating shipments of fresh blueberries between growers/vendors and our packing facilities during the Blueberry season. And developing new and existing LTL and FTL carrier relations with alternate shippers during the off-season.
This person will monitor and verify documentation and ensure good arrivals, supporting and working in tandem with the purchasing and receiving department. This individual enjoys problem-solving and negotiating the unexpected. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proficient in Excel, Google Docs/Sheets and QuickBooks, and/or other ERP systems.
- 3- 7 years’ experience in the perishable’s transportation field
- High accuracy and fast data input
- 10 key proficiency a plus
- Has direct understanding and experience with dispatching LTL trucks and FTL trucks to growers, and clients
- Previous experience in produce transportation strongly preferred
- Understands all parts of a logistics business – purchasing, operations, and cold chain
- Serve as the primary communication bridge between our purchasing and operations teams and the grower/shipper as to the timely pickup and delivery of all P.O.’s

Prepare and manage all required shipping documentation

Set up and confirm timely pickup and deliveries

Ensure product arrives at cross-dock and is picked and loaded for long hauls

Manage shipments of product from pickup to delivery

Ensure product is shipped at correct/optimum temperature

Track shipments and update Purchasing/Merchandisers/Operations team

Research and resolve any late or missing loads.

Create solutions for any-and-all transportation issues

Seek out and develop new shipper relationships for the off season
