Reporting to the Head of HR Systems and Payroll, the Payroll Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the payroll processes and timekeeping systems. The supervisor will analyze multi-state bi-weekly payrolls, conduct audits to ensure adherence to applicable policies and regulations, and reconcile and resolve complex payroll processing and employee payroll issues to ensure smooth payroll processing.
In this role, you will ensure payroll reporting and payments are compliant with company policy, generally accepted accounting principles, and federal, state, and IRS regulations. You'll research and interpret federal and state regulatory requirements and resolve tax, withholding, garnishment, and wage/hour issues for payroll processing. In addition, you'll be able to showcase your creativity and make an impact as you support an all-new implementation of UKG Pro, learning right along with the rest of us.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Recruit, interview, hire and train new staff in the department.
- Oversee the daily workflow of the department.
- Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations.
- Handle discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
Key responsibilities:
- Responsible for processing on-cycle and off-cycle payroll for 4 locations located in California, New Jersey, and Georgia for 3,000+ exempt and non-exempt employees across the United States.
- Supervise processing of special payrolls including merit, bonus, and year-end adjustments.
- Responsible for payroll-related accounting entries including the calculation of paid time off (PTO) balances.
- Oversee the daily workflow of the department.
- Work with payroll vendor to ensure timeliness and accuracy of all payroll tax filings, and amendments including year-end processing of W-2 and 1099-R forms.
What you will Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field.
- Minimum 4 years of experience processing multi-state payroll.
- Minimum 2 years of prior supervisory experience.
- Experience with Ultimate Kronos Group (UKG) HCM system is strongly preferred.
- A strong sense of urgency and a forward-looking approach.
