Job Description: 

Castle Rock Vineyards is a well-established, vibrant and growing farming company, specializing in table grapes and headquartered in Delano. We are looking for an Assistant Controller to join our experienced accounting team. Under the direction of the Controller, the Assistant Controller will assist and support in the achievement of Company goals and objectives. Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Oversee Accounts Payable, General Ledger and Fixed Asset functions
  • Maintain Managerial and Crop Accounting financial models and logs
  • Maintain Farm Labor Contractor cost models
  • Assist with Grower Accounting and Grower Settlements
  • Prepare financial analyses
  • Assist in Year-End close and annual review of financial statements
  • Assist in developing and refining accounting processes and procedures
  • Oversee payroll function, including payroll processing in conjunction with payroll service
  • Administer 401(k) and Health Insurance plans
  • Serve as Company H/R representative
  • Administer contracts with Farm Labor Contractors
  • Assist with Government compliance requirements
  • Administer insurance claims
Requirements: 
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Understanding of Ag accounting a plus
  • Experience with Ag accounting software “Famous” preferred
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Working knowledge of GAAP
  • Should have background in A/P, A/R and General Ledger
  • Good supervisory and communication skills
  • Bi-Lingual English-Spanish a plus
  • Good people skills and ability to contribute to a positive working environment
