Facilities Manager - Fresh Produce Repack & Value-Added Facility

PennRose Farms is seeking a hands-on, results-oriented Facilities Manager to oversee our repack and value-added facility in Manor, GA. This individual will manage daily operations, ensure the efficient repacking of dry vegetables (bell peppers, cucumbers, squash, eggplant, green beans, etc.) while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, facility maintenance, and cost efficiency.

Core Responsibilities

• Facility & Equipment Management: Direct all aspects of building maintenance, including managing service contracts and third-party contractors. Oversee the maintenance and repair of specialized produce grading and packaging machinery.
• Operational Execution: Partner with the sales team to execute customer orders flawlessly. Ensure all products meet quality specifications while maximizing throughput.
• Financial Accountability: Responsible for the facility’s bottom-line cost. Success is measured by the cost-per-unit of finished goods and overall operational output.
• Staffing & Leadership: Manage and develop a team consisting of one Foreman and a crew of 5–10 laborers. Coordinate supplemental labor as needed to meet seasonal demands.
• Compliance & Safety: Maintain rigorous Food Safety protocols (GAP/GHP/SQF) and ensure a culture of workplace safety (OSHA) for all employees and contractors.

Qualifications

• Experience: 3+ years in fresh produce operations, repacking, or warehouse management.
• Technical Skills: Working knowledge of produce grading machinery and facility HVAC/refrigeration systems.
• Leadership: Proven ability to manage a diverse workforce and external vendors.
• Business Acumen: Understanding of P&L drivers, specifically labor efficiency and waste reduction.
• Communication: Strong ability to bridge the gap between facility operations and the sales office to meet tight shipping deadlines.
