We are seeking a Produce Sales “Machine” with a passport and customer contacts all over the Eastern USA. We are looking for someone that isn’t afraid to work from home, at times. We have a lot going on, JVI is a sourcing and sales organization, so we are wholesalers, importers, re-packers and fruit ripeners. The company is a fourth generation, family operated enterprise, over 100 years old, building the base for the next 100 years.
Our home is in the Philadelphia Wholesale Produce Market on Essington Ave. so if you come to visit, be sure to bring a jacket, the whole building is refrigerated! Actually, the offices are heated, and we do give our employees something warm to wear. Working with growers and shippers around the world, we specialize in sourcing greenhouse vegetables, tropical and ethnic fruits and vegetables, gourmet items, and fresh herbs year-round.
We have over 30 years of direct import experience. This is the chance for the right person to help us build and profit from a new direction for our company. We want to get closer to the source for many of the items that our current customers need and to offer those items to customers outside our regular neighborhood. We know where the products are, we need you to develop more customers. We anticipate a base pay that will get you by, but to make real money you will have to do the work. Your sales performance will earn bonuses.
You will work your contacts and new prospects via phone, email, text and face to face (pandemic permitting). You will be a resource for those folks regarding our products and work to build programs and relationships based on our product lines. We expect that feedback from your customers will allow us to determine their pain points as far as sourcing and supplying counter-seasonal and specialty items.
If you are a self-motivated hunter with experience selling to targeted industry sectors from big retail to large independents and wholesalers, we are interested in hearing from you. We expect you to have strong communication and technology skills. Ten years produce sales experience and a college degree are preferred. This job will require some travel to industry trade shows to meet colleagues and perhaps overseas to learn about our suppliers, their products and their challenges.
