Job Description:
We are currently seeking a Senior Financial Analyst in Salinas, California. This individual will be responsible for a full support to controller in finance and accounting functions and processes overseeing the company’s vertically integrated growing & commodity Salad and Vegetable business segments, execution of company accounting policies & procedures, conforming to GAAP. Provide support and assist in the coordination of company financial planning, reporting and budget management functions.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Direct the day-to-day execution of accounting functions and processes;
- Managing day-to-day functions of grower accounting ;
- Supports preparing accurate and timely financial statements and analysis to controller;
- Closely coordinate, communicate and partner with the Salad and Vegetable segment business managers, particularly Sales, Business Management (Marketing), Customer Service, Operations, LoSgistics and Raw Product;
- Analyze, improve, and monitor grower accounting policies and procedures ;
- Supports controller in coordinating the annual audit for the Vegetable segment to produce a timely and efficient audit by the company’s independent auditors
- Assist in coordination of the company financial planning and budget management functions.
- Recommend benchmarks for measuring the financial and operating performance of divisions and departments;
- Assist in monitoring and analysis of monthly operating results against budget and forecast;
- Assist in the preparation of financial outlooks, financial forecasts and cash planning ;
- Assist controller to establish and implement short- and long-range departmental goals & objectives;
- Assist in the overall financial management of all corporate entities and subsidiaries;
- Assist in directing financial audits and provide recommendations for procedural improvements;
- Assist in supervising employees in the Accounting Department as it pertains to coordinating and overseeing the grower accounting processes.

Education and/or Experience:
- Must be highly skilled in the use and application of the company’s computer system and approved accounting policies and procedures.
- B.S. degree in Accounting
- CPA certification desired
- Minimum four (4) years of practical experience in accounting, and minimum two (2) years practical experience as a Business or Financial Analyst managing staff in a vertically integrated grower / shipper environment.
- Experience and working knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, practices, and currency translation for US and Mexico based operations highly desirable.
- Must be willing to identify opportunities to improve internal processes, develop & make recommendations and implement / execute decisions
