Pete’s is seeking a Hydroponics Greenhouse Grower to work at our new facility based out of Warner Robins, GA.  

The Greenhouse Grower will excel in growing hydroponic crops of the highest quality in the most efficient way, in collaboration with other production team members. Experience with organic hydroponic growing is a plus. The Greenhouse Grower will be working with the growing team while fostering a positive environment of respect and safety for his/her people, our customers, and the environment. The Greenhouse Grower must be able to work independently and collaboratively, performing multiple-level projects in conjunction with his/her daily activities.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Assisting in crew management, supervising, training, and coaching team members.
  • Scouting for pests and diseases, fertility management, climate control and monitoring of the food safety program.
  • Using climate computers, settings, graphics, and standard procedures for climate control and irrigation.
  • Troubleshooting growing, harvest and packing equipment malfunctions and determining when contacting third parties.
  • Explaining and demonstrating plant care-taking techniques.
  • Analyzing soil, water, leaves to determine type and quantity of fertilizer required for maximum production. Adjusting fertilizer programs based on soil, solution and leaf tissue analysis.
  • Participating in the company’s Research and Development projects related to growing and equipment.

Requirements:

  • Preferred 2 years work experience in crew management
  • Preferred 2 years work experience in professional horticulture
  • A.S. degree in in agriculture or related field is a plus
  • Experience with HACCP/GFSI a plus
  • Ability to regularly work weekends and holidays
  • Practical knowledge of MS Office applications
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license
