Job Description: 

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Operations Assistant to support day-to-day inventory management, order fulfillment, and logistics coordination within our fresh produce supply chain.

This role works closely with the Operations Manager and plays a key part in ensuring operational accuracy, timely communication, and smooth coordination with internal teams and external partners. The ideal candidate is eager to learn the produce industry, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and enjoys managing multiple moving parts.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build foundational experience across supply chain, logistics, and fresh produce operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inventory Management & Control
  • Maintain accurate Stock on Hand (SOH) across port locations and storage facilities
  • Support inbound container clearance and drayage coordination
  • Assist with inventory allocation and distribution planning
  • Coordinate bagging and reconditioning schedules, communications, and ERP entries
  • Support and occasionally perform Quality Control (QC) documentation
  • Track materials procurement and usage (film, cartons, display bins, etc.)
  • Identify and communicate inventory discrepancies or shortages

Order Fulfillment & Logistics

  • Support outbound order fulfillment to ensure accurate and timely shipments
  • Complete ERP workflows and documentation for assigned orders
  • Communicate daily with shipping and logistics partners
  • Assist in coordinating LTL and FTL shipments and transfers
  • Maintain organized shipping documentation

Operational Planning & Support

  • Assist with storage, trucking, and packing execution plans
  • Update shipping lanes for FTL and LTL movements
  • Gather and organize 3PL cost information
  • Support offseason and seasonal transition planning
  • Maintain food safety, organic, and certification documentation
  • Assist with materials planning for current and upcoming seasons

Qualifications

  • Experience in operations support, logistics, administration, or customer service (produce industry experience preferred)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable working with ERP systems (NetSuite experience a plus)
  • Proficient with technology and digital tools
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
