Grower Procurement Specialist (Greenhouse Products – Mexico to U.S.)
Location: Remote/Mexico-based, with periodic travel to U.S. and Mexico (travel to U.S. distribution centers/farms as needed)

Position Summary:
The Grower Procurement Specialist will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and contracting greenhouse growers in Mexico. You’ll manage sourcing strategies, price negotiations, supplier relationships, quality control, and logistics coordination to ensure consistent, compliant, and cost-effective supply of produce into the U.S.
Key Responsibilities:
Supplier Sourcing & Evaluation: Identify potential greenhouse producers in Mexico based on product quality, capacity, certifications, and export readiness.
Contract Negotiation: Lead price, volume, and delivery terms discussions with growers and brokers.
Quality Compliance: Collaborate with QA/QC teams to ensure product meets U.S. import standards (POD, FDA, food safety certifications).
Forecasting & Demand Planning: Coordinate with U.S. sales and inventory teams to sync on demand forecasts, seasonality, and lead times.
Logistics Coordination: Oversee export logistics—coordinate trucking, customs clearance, cold chain, and documentation.
Market Research: Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, pricing, and regulatory changes relevant to greenhouse produce.
Relationship Management: Maintain close partnerships with growers, brokers, and internal stakeholders to optimize supply reliability and innovation.
Continuous Improvement: Identify sourcing efficiencies, cost-saving opportunities, and quality enhancements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture, Agriculture, Agribusiness, Supply Chain, or related field.
3+ years of procurement or grower sourcing experience in Mexico, preferably with greenhouse-grown produce.
Strong understanding of U.S.–Mexico produce supply chains, logistics, and relevant regulations (POD, FDA, etc.).
Proficiency in negotiating, relationship-building, and project management.
Fluent in English and Spanish.
Willingness to travel (~25%) across Mexico and U.S.
Preferred Experience:
Familiarity with produce job functions per JoeProduce listings—such as field buying, grower relations, and greenhouse procurement .
Knowledge of greenhouse production systems, certifications (GLOBALG.A.P., organic, etc.), and cold-chain logistics.
