This role is essential to maintaining product integrity, supporting inventory strategy, and helping direct product to the right destination based on quality parameters.

What You’ll Do

  • Oversee Inventory & Quality Control: Monitor incoming and existing inventory, identify product requiring immediate attention, and help prioritize action on pallets with quality concerns, repack needs, or ageing risk.
  • Lead the Front Line: Supervise, support, and coordinate the daily activities of Quality Inspectors, including arrival inspections, reprocessing, repacks, and routine inventory checks.
  • Drive Timely Communication: Ensure quality reports are completed accurately and shared with growers and relevant internal teams within 24 hours of arrival or re-inspection.
  • Manage Claims & Issue Tracking: Track quality issues, maintain complete documentation, support surveyor inspections when needed, and help ensure all concerns are properly recorded and communicated.
  • Partner on Product Allocation: Work closely with Supply Chain and warehouse teams to help determine the best destination for product based on quality, condition, and inventory needs.
  • Deliver Reporting & Insights: Prepare and share reports on arrival quality, claims status, inventory ageing, and repack/reprocess performance to support business decisions.

What You Bring

  • Produce Industry Experience: At least 3 years of experience in the produce industry, with strong knowledge of fresh fruit handling, packing, quality inspections, and inventory control.
  • Bilingual Communication Skills: Fluency in both English and Spanish, with the ability to communicate clearly across a diverse grower and operations network.
  • Leadership Capability: Experience leading or training a team, with the judgment to make quick, informed decisions in a fast-moving environment.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong computer skills, including MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint, with ERP or inventory management system experience a plus.
  • Core Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, valid driver’s license, and the ability to work in cold environments for extended periods and travel to other sites as needed.

Key Competencies

  • Organization & Follow-Through: Able to manage multiple arrivals, inspections, reports, and open issues with strong attention to detail.
  • Communication: Skilled at turning quality data into clear, timely, and actionable updates for growers and internal stakeholders.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable adjusting quickly to changing priorities and making sound decisions under pressure.
  • Results Orientation: Focused on accuracy, accountability, and maintaining high standards across quality processes.
