The Role: Quality Control Field Inspector

Location: Bakersfield, CA (In person)

Job Type: Permanent, Full-time

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Produce Quality Control Inspector to manage and monitor the quality of our perishable products, specifically focusing on Grapes, Stone Fruit, and Citrus.

In this vital role, you will travel to various farming operations, working collaboratively with both our suppliers and our buyers. This position requires an individual who can regularly exercise discretion and independent judgment in duties directly related to the general operation of produce quality control.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

To be successful in this role, you will bring a blend of technical know-how and exceptional relationship-building skills:

• Industry Knowledge: Experience with produce inspection (knowledge of the USDA grading system is a big plus).
• Communication & Tech Skills: Ability to write routine reports, take pictures, and send correspondence using our in-house digital platform.
• Interpersonal Excellence: Exemplary listening skills to facilitate effective two-way communication, a good reputation, and the ability to build strong working relationships.
• Problem-Solving Ability: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to handle field-level challenges.
• Flexibility: A willingness to work full-time with some weekend and night hours, alongside a readiness to travel during peak times throughout the year.
