Job Description: 

Family Tree Farms is a family-owned grower/packer/shipper headquartered in Reedley, CA. Our operation encompasses over 5,000 acres of stone fruit and blueberries in central California as well as a combined 3,000 acres of blueberries in Mexico and Peru.  Family Tree Farms’ mission statement is “to consistently produce, package and market the most flavorful fruit in the world.” In pursuit of this mission, we have established strong, world-wide relationships with our retail and wholesale partners. We have an immediate opening for a Human Resources Manager to join us in our Reedley, CA facility. 

The Human Resource (HR), Manager's responsibilities, will require the application of broad HR and California employment law knowledge as well as hands-on expertise with demonstrated results in several functions / HR processes. Competitive salary, benefits and 401k package.

Requirements: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Administration, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years Human Resources experience, preferably in the California Ag industry
  • Minimum of 2 years ‘experience in HR Manager role is preferred
  • Must have visionary leadership and perspective to understand how best to achieve desired organizational change and results
  • Ability to work both independently as well as part of a team
  • Thorough knowledge of and the ability to apply principles and practices of personnel administration
  • Experience in the administration of benefits and compensation programs
  • Pragmatic problem-solving skills
  • Articulate communicator and ability to interpret and explain written and statistical data to a wide range of audiences
  • High standard of attention to detail and ability to multi-task a must
  • Ability to convey difficult and challenging information to managers
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills such as Word, Outlook, Excel and HRIS
  • Ability to manage time and prioritize work
  • Excellent organizational management skills
  • Bilingual English/Spanish required
Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Develop, revise, and recommend personnel policies and procedures
  • Maintain and revise the company handbook on policies and procedures
  • Oversee recruitment efforts for all personnel, including writing and placing job ads
  • Maintain department records and reports
  • Maintain company directory and other organizational charts
  • Maintain and provide positive employee relations
  • Maintain and grow your California employment law and compliance issues such as EEO/AAP, ADA, FLSA and FMLA
  • Review and provide recommendations on HR policies in compliance with changing or new legislation
  • Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements, conducting investigations, maintaining records, representing the organization at hearings
  • Adhere to all federal, state and local regulations governing the employment process; keep applicant files in good order for applicant tracking purposes
  • Direct report to Shed Operations Manager
