Job Description: 

J. Ambrogi Foods is an independent family-owned Food Service Distributor with grassroots knowledge and customized service five generations deep. The current distribution business was incorporated by Jerry and Kristy Ambrogi in 1987. We are passionate about produce and strive to deliver only the finest and freshest commodities from around the world and from local farms right in our backyard. We pride ourselves on utilizing the most efficient technology resulting in superior service ensuring our customers always receive exactly what they want when they want it.

Our sales team is composed of independent, goal-oriented sales professionals who serve customers throughout New Jersey, Delaware, and Central/Eastern Pennsylvania. The sales person is responsible for achieving their monthly and annual sales plan by securing new clients and maintaining and growing existing business. Industry knowledge, ambition, organizational skills, the ability to work as part of a team, and a strong sense of personal responsibility are keys to success! Each salesperson is expected to approach their work with perseverance and determination to succeed, as well as compassion and a desire to serve our customers.

Requirements: 
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred with a minimum of 1-3 years outside sales experience.
  • Success in meeting Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).
  • Demonstrated success in generating sales prospects and securing new customers.
  • Ability to influence decision makers at all levels.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills. 
  • Ability to communicate and coordinate across company departments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • CRM management experience.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Reliable transportation and the ability to navigate a geographical territory is required
  • Honesty and Integrity.
  • Foodservice industry experience desired.
Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Meet or exceed annual sales plan by developing and territory specific growth plan.
  • Prospecting on an ongoing basis.  This includes but is not limited to cold calling, new client meetings, gaining referrals, attending networking events, and utilizing social media strategies.
  • New customer acquisition, including securing new customers monthly.
  • Developing deep and long-lasting customer relationships.
  • Identifying opportunities and increasing sales with existing customers.
  • Demonstrating superior customer service skills when interacting with all customers and prospects.
  • Participating in monthly and quarterly sales planning.
  • Managing a limited number of existing accounts.
