We are looking for a Safety Manager with a strong background in Agricultural Safety and Food regulations and requirements. This position is responsible for Managing the Safety-Food Safety Programs of the Company. The Safety Manager will develop and oversee all safety and food safety regulations and policies for the Yuma (Arizona) area of operations. This position will also be the Human Resources contact for field personnel. The vision for this hands-on Manager is to take the lead in creating a dynamic and responsive for the Safety Department in very fluid environments will interact with all Departments and locations to provide support and training to staff members, Managers, Supervisors and Foremen at all levels within the organization regarding Food Safety and worker Safety process.

This Manager position ensure that all policies, programs, and daily operations are in compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and procedures, Implement and enforce the Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP), Maintain a presence at field locations to review activities and provide all employees with an opportunity to discuss any matter relating to safety, Routinely inspect all equipment and vehicles for general safety conditions; field, office, shop, Develop, oversee, and maintain the HACCP Program and “Good Agricultural Practices” (GAP) Program, Monitor and verify activities to ensure that all products coming in and out of the field meet food safety standards, support the HR Department as point of contact in the field and work together in the employee relations area and redirect to the HR department  any possible issue that can arise at any moment.

Requirements: 
  • FLSA Status: Exempt
  • Reports to: Food Safety/ Safety Director.
  • Language: Bi-lingual/Bi-literate English/Spanish required
  • Valid California driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Travel approximately 30% to other locations, often on short notice, either by driving or flying and staying overnight for variable periods of time
  • Outside work that may require walking and standing in fields during all weather conditions
  • H2A Visa Program experience is a plus and desirable.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft office, i.e. Word, Excel
  • Any four year degree in related field, plus 4 years in a supervisory position or an equivalent combination of experience (10 years), supervisory position, education, and training that would provide the level of knowledge and ability required for the position.
