We are seeking an experienced produce Inspector to play a critical role in the Quality Assurance Department. Our Inspectors provide critical field-level product inspection to ensure quality and food safety.  They maintain accurate and timely inspection records and participate in the creation of educational videos in coordination with our Marketing department. This position requires the ability to exhibit independence, flexibility and good judgment to respond to rapidly changing field situations. The ideal candidate is a team player who is passionate about produce and possesses excellent written and oral communication skills.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A combination of education and experience that provide the skills needed to successfully complete the essential functions; typically, through a Bachelors or Associates degree in food safety, crop science, agriculture or related field and expertise in the field of agriculture and food safety; background in produce quality control highly preferred
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is highly desirable
  • Strong computer skills, including database entry and ability to learn new programs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems independently and with sound judgment
  • Ability to demonstrate accuracy, thoroughness and d­ependability in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative, flexibility, enthusiasm and team work
  • Ability to interact with supplier contacts, including supervisors, effectively and professionally
  • Valid current driver’s license and a clean driving record, and participation in DMV Pull Program required
  • Must be willing to be in front of the camera (participate in field videos that will be posted on social media sites) and give presentations as needed
  • Ability to travel - daily routine travel within close proximity; temporary seasonal work in other California locations (e.g., Huron, Santa Maria, Oxnard), seasonal relocation to Yuma, Arizona for 4 to 5 months of the year (paid housing & per diem)

We offer a competitive salary and benefits package. This is a full-time, exempt position. Total compensation includes use of company vehicle, vehicle maintenance, gas card and relocation per diem. Employer subsidized health, vision and dental insurance effective on the first of the month following hire. PTO accrual and paid holidays from date of hire.
