Job Description: 
Our growing team is looking for a Production Manager with a passion for food and a drive to make a difference.
  
The Production Manager is crucial in ensuring that all production department functions are executed with the utmost quality, safety, and efficiency, while keeping an eagle eye on meeting production and yield goals. As our department leader, you will provide engaged and focused leadership in all interactions and develop your team to adopt the same approach.
  
Cross-functional collaboration will be a key aspect of your job, as you work towards ensuring that our production operations run smoothly and efficiently. You'll work closely with other departments, such as sales, purchasing, and food safety. Our production operates over two shifts, 7 days/a week.
  
Job Description:
  1. Production Management
    1. Oversees facility labor force of 75-150 employees. Motivates supports, and provides guidance to production staff, demonstrating a sense of urgency to meet production and company goals.
    2. Organizes, directs, and ensures timely completion of processing functions while ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices, food safety and quality regulations, as well as state and federal laws. Maintains a safe work environment for all associates and complete related paperwork, reports, and support functions.
    3. Compile, organize, and retrieve production data to inform decision-making and performance improvement.
  2. Effective Leadership and Team Building
    1. Demonstrates hands-on, self-directed leadership and builds strong relationships across all levels of the organization.
    2. Mentors, trains, and coaches direct reports to improve their performance and achieve goals.
    3. Collaborates with senior management to develop and implement production goals and policies that increase productivity and workflow.
    4. Communicates effectively with supervisors and production associates, providing coaching and taking input to ensure goals are exceeded and performances are improved.
  3. Communication Skills
    1. Maintains timely and appropriate communication with internal and external stakeholders.
    2. Informs Food Safety Management and Facility Manager of area activities and significant concerns, while providing suggestions to identify and solve problems.
  4. Safety
    1. Conducts line inspections to ensure compliance with production, safety, and quality standards.
    2. Ensures that production functions follow established GMPs and food safety policies.
Qualifications:
  1. Technical Skills:
    1. Proficient in food safety and quality systems and standards.
    2. Knowledge and experience in production and manufacturing techniques.
    3. Knowledge of packaging and processing equipment preferred.
    4. Familiar with Human Resources principles and practices.
    5. Spanish language proficiency preferred. 
  2. Soft Skills:
    1. Strong relationship-building skills and ability to manage a team
    2. Ability to balance multiple projects with competing timelines and priorities
    3. Problem-solving skills
    4. Resourcefulness and responsiveness
    5. Mentoring, training, and coaching abilities
    6. Strong communication skills, with the ability to adjust communication style to effectively interact with individuals at all levels of the organization (senior management, supervisors, production associates, etc.).
    7. Safety awareness and adherence to safety policies and regulations.
  3. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent of three years of work experience in production management. Experience in food manufacturing preferred.
