JOB FILLED - Commodity Manager

Job Description: 

The Commodity Manager is responsible for planning, implementing, and executing successful order fulfillment to ensure we have the right product in the right place and time to meet customer demand while minimizing aging inventory.

Essential Job Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Utilizing our ERP and collaboratively with Sales, develop the weekly and daily product pack plan and communicate with the Planner and Field team.
  • Determine demand of product by cooler location and by day/week and communicate to Planner.
  • Work to minimize transfers by getting the right inventory of product shipped to the right cooler.
  • Communicate with the Field team to update sales on overall supply outlook for 1 to 2 weeks out.
  • Ensure the right quality product is placed with the right customer orders.  Ensures proper rotation of product is being executed at the coolers.
  • Maintains visibility of all inventories (current and forecast) and communicates them to respective teams.
  • Ensures product freshness, reducing aged and low volume inventory at locations and call out the need to move product – ensure product rotation to sell FIFO.  Responsible for “4-day report” at morning meetings
  • Coordinate with field team daily to get volume forecasts for current and upcoming weeks.
  • Communicate to sales team in real time any changes in daily harvest/inventory changes.
  • Collaborate with the Mexico team on pack plan and cooler locations for daily Mexico shipments to the U.S.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Logistics, Sales, or related field
  • 5 years’ related experience in Strategic Planning, Supply Chain/Operations, or related fields
  • Knowledge of inventory management and logistics
  • Problem-solving skills with ability to put together complex planning.
  • Advanced skill with ERP’s, MS Office, and data visualization/analysis tools
  • Superior communication skills to synthesize data and deliver a clear image of the strategy, opportunity, and risks.
  • Strong business acumen and analytical thinking, turning data into actionable steps.
  • Process improvement oriented
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent changes.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally across different teams.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish

 Physical Requirements

  • This position must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift 20-25 lbs.
  • Ability to work long periods on a computer keyboard.
