We have an immediate opportunity available for an Organic Sales Business Development Manager to join our team in Long Beach, CA.

This is a high-impact opportunity to own key organic accounts, shape strategic direction, and help scale a business that’s going places. If you have deep experience in retail or food service organic sales this could be the next big step in your career.

The successful candidate will be highly motivated, able to work independently and be able to multi-task and handle pressure of a fast-paced industry.

DLJ Produce was founded in 1993 with the goal of bridging the communication and building partnerships among growers, shippers, retailers and foodservice customers. Currently DLJ Produce ships to more than 20 states, and several countries and has working relationships with more than 100 shippers around the world.
The DLJ Produce import program represents over 10 countries globally with year-round shipments available. The DLJ Produce domestic program along with the import program allows DLJ to provide year-round fresh products featuring sales and marketing expertise to our many supply partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of key retail and/or foodservice organic accounts
  • Develop and execute organic sales strategies that align with pricing, volume, and margin goals
  • Strengthening customer relationships through regular communication, responsiveness, and trust
  • Partner with internal teams across procurement, logistics, and operations to ensure timely and high-quality order fulfillment
  • Prospect and close new business, with a focus on long-term value and alignment with company goals
  • Deliver market updates and insights that inform decision-making and sharpen the company’s competitive edge
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and key customer meetings
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to penetrate retail accounts, with a focus on regional and mid-size grocery chains
  • Support / participate in conventional sales

What You Need to Succeed:

  • 5+ years of organic produce sales or account management experience
  • A track record of building lasting customer relationships and delivering strong results
  • Strong communication skills and a solutions-oriented, consultative approach
  • Highly organized, detail-driven, and motivated to take ownership
  • Ability and willingness to travel as needed
  • Ability to partner with growers and create long lasting sustainable organic programs
