Based in Kenilworth, NJ, Plastpac is the premier maker of recyclable corrugated plastic containers for produce and related food sectors. We're seeking a proactive and dependable Sales Assistant to join our growing team in-house in the Union County area.

As a key supporter of our sales representatives, you'll be the crucial link between our sales team and our customers. This fast-paced role requires a detail-oriented and self-motivated individual who can handle multiple tasks and deadlines with ease. Key Responsibilities

  • Order Management: Process and input sales orders using our internal systems and various online portals. You'll also be responsible for tracking new and changing commodities and sending necessary documents, such as passings and confirmation of sale (COS) for Canadian customers.
  • Customer & Sales Support: Act as a liaison by communicating with customers, carriers, and the internal team via phone, email, apps, and text. You'll assist with customer inquiries, provide follow-up on "trouble files" and accounts receivable, and help coordinate freight and transportation for shipments. You'll also prepare and ship fruit samples via FedEx and assist with rejections and settlements.
  • Reporting & Administrative Tasks: Create, format, and update various sales reports. You'll also assist with compiling marketing materials and PowerPoint presentations, manage customer lists, prepare samples and monitor order patterns. Other duties include copying, scanning, and filing documents, and assisting other departments as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience: 2 years of administrative or sales assistant experience REQUIRED.
  • Technical Skills: A thorough knowledge of various software and online platforms, including Famous, iTrade, and Retail Link. You should also be comfortable working with general office equipment.
  • Soft Skills: Strong written, oral communication and people skills are essential for building and maintaining positive relationships with both internal and external contacts. You must be highly organized, attentive to detail, and possess solid time management skills.
