Job Description:

About the role:
The Director of Business Development manages an assigned customer base and prospect accounts to provide World Class Service fulfilling customer specific goals and Naturipe Farms Strategic goals. Products to be sold include washed and ready-to-eat blueberries, grapes, and complementary items that create on the go snacking solutions as well as providing Food Service solutions. 

What you'll accomplish:

  • Establish and maintain professional sales relationships with assigned existing Naturipe Farms Value-Added accounts and grow these accounts in accordance with Naturipe Farms Strategic Sales Plan.
  • Understand and clearly communicates customer and Naturipe processed product specifications internally and externally. Able to understand processed product application and guide customers/product management to utilize products that fit the required application.
  • Develop and establish new value-added customer base in accordance with Naturipe VAF Strategic Sales Plan.
  • Perform Monthly Market updates to entire business on the competitive conditions, pricing and anything new in the marketplace.
  • Manage and train a retail broker network to support the business, including 6-month objectives by market. 
  • Pursue sales opportunities, monitor sales to identify opportunities in accordance with Strategic Sales Plan.
  • Propose customer visit schedule with meeting purpose and agendas to advance relationship. 
  • Prepare and propose comprehensive annual sales plan/budget by account by product.
  • Present and effectively executes company’s marketing initiatives to ingredient and retail trade.
  • Serve as the content expert in your market and identify opportunities for growth and recommend tactics to achieve goals and/or prospective new accounts to VP/GM.
  • Maintain awareness of the competitive environment and report to manager and team on a real time basis to achieve market leadership.
  • Partner with our finance group to assure prompt collection of assigned account receivables, and ultimately responsible for the collection of all funds.
  • Foster World Class Service in customer relationships and value-added market leadership

Requirements
This should describe you:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in produce sales
  • Strong background in value added fresh sales preferred.
  • Omni Channel experience preferred, retail, foodservice, C Stores and alternative channels
  • Ability to act independently and make competent decisions without supervision.
  • Must have excellent computer skills with knowledge of MS Office, Outlook and SAP helpful
  • Individual must be detail oriented and an effective communicator to others
  • Team player, striving for the benefit of the team 
  • Travel commitment: up to 40%
  • Ideally residing in the EST time zone and availability after hours
