SUMMARY. The Auditor, Spray and Assets is responsible for performing hands-on audits and inspections related to pesticide spray applications and agricultural equipment assets. This role conducts spray audits during both day and night shifts to ensure regulatory compliance and application effectiveness. The position inventories equipment by labeling, photographing, and documenting assets to maintain accurate identification and records. The Auditor inspects equipment in accordance with original equipment manufacturer (OEM) requirements, documents findings, and tracks required action items. The role also assists with the coordination and documentation of company asset auctions and disposition activities.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP. The Auditor, Spray | Assets reports to the Specialist, Spray Operations | Asset Management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES. The following job duties and responsibilities are fundamental to the role:
 

  • Conduct spray audits during both day and night shifts to ensure regulatory compliance and spray effectiveness.
  • Evaluate pesticide applications to ensure compliance with the California Code of Regulations, industry best practices for pesticide mixing, and proper sprayer calibration.
  • Inventory equipment by labeling, photographing, and documenting all assets.
  • Inspect asset labeling to ensure all equipment is properly identified at all times.
  • Evaluate spray crews for adherence to the California Code of Regulations, product label requirements, and company safety standards.
  • Audit pesticide mixing practices to confirm that correct products are selected, accurately measured, mixed in the proper order, and prepared in accordance with all applicable guidelines.
  • Document spray rig caliberation during pestcicde applications to verify adherence to recommended settings.
  • Collect and analyze spray deposition samples on crops to determine whether optimal pesticide coverage has been achieved.
  • Inspect equipment in accordance with original equipment manufacturer (OEM) requirements and document required action items.
  • Assist with the auctioning and disposition of company assets, including coordination and documentation.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS. The qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required, unless specified otherwise.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in pesticide application, asset management, or mechanized farming practices.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Proficient in operating tractors and other agricultural machinery.
  • Working knowledge of agricultural equipment, with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work extended hours, including predominantly night shifts during the spring and summer seasons, as well as weekends and a flexible schedule as required.
