Job Description:
Frieda's, Inc. is a well-established specialty produce wholesaler looking for a Human Resources Generalist for our facility located in Los Alamitos. We are seeking an HR Generalist to provide excellent customer service to both our office and warehouse/production personnel.

Requirements:
- 5+ years experience in a HR Generalist role
- Ability to work at a HR Manager level when necessary
- Experience processing payroll using ADP’s PayXpert and E-Time is preferred
- Experience preparing reports is preferred
- Knowledge of Human Resources practices, Wage and Hour Laws, and general Benefits Administration
- Ability to handle employee records and materials in a secure and confidential manner and ensure the privacy and confidentiality of all employee information.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Specific responsibilities include:
- Implement various human resources programs, initiatives and procedures.
- Assist employees with personnel information and interpretation of Personnel policies and procedures.
- Respond to inquiries by employees on benefits, payroll or general questions.
- Process payroll utilizing ADP’s PayXpert. Make sure timesheets are signed off and submitted in a timely manner. Process timecards utilizing ADP's E-Time.
- Track employee Attendance and provide counseling and disciplinary action when necessary.
- Participate in benefits administration to include enrollments, claim resolution, change reporting and reconciliation and payment of monthly invoices.
- Maintain and update employee information in the HRIS system.
- Responsible for HR report generation. Establish reports and documents to provide current personnel information to management as needed.
- Respond to inquiries from authorized third parties regarding employment verification, and unemployment inquiries.
- Process PTO requests and monitor employee balances.
- Assist in the recruitment process by placing ads, screening and distributing resumes, checking references, and preparing offer packages. In addition, coordinate interviews for hiring managers and administer pre-employment “skills testing”. Also, coordinate pre-employment drug testing and physicals with medical clinic.
- Place order for temporary personnel. Route invoices to appropriate department head for approval.
- Conduct New Hire Orientations and process paperwork.
- Create correspondence, documentation, new forms and modify existing company forms as necessary.
- Monitor personnel postings in the office including Labor Law posters, Birthday and Anniversary listings and announcements.
- Update Organization Chart.
- Handle workplace injuries by sending employee to medical clinic and completing claim form and submitting to insurance carrier. Monitor any follow-up medical treatment. Maintain the OSHA-300 log.
- Administration of the safety programs including the Safety Committee
- Administration of the 401(k) plan. Process enrollment and withdrawal forms, coordinate semi-annual meetings and transmit contribution report to 401(k) provider.
- Prepare all employee Termination paperwork and packets.
- Other duties as required and/or assigned.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required
