Job Description: 

Looking for an experienced Logistics Manager who will provide hands-on leadership in a busy distribution center/warehouse environment with emphasis on customer service, team building and ownership. This person is responsible for creating and implementing projects of medium to large scope and complexity, leads all administrative and coordination activities on projects to ensure success, including project planning, resource allocation, quality assurance and analysis of impacted systems and processes. This position oversees the Shipping Team Members, who in turn provide daily direction to Packout, Shipping, Delivery Routes, and management of third-party shipping partners.​ The role will ensure compliance and adherence to all applicable internal and regulatory requirements for Occupational Safety and Health as well as for Food Safety standards. The position will oversee staffing of Logistics as well as execution/adherence to the facility maintenance budget.​

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Maintaining and upholding the safety and quality standards of the organization and those set by industry.
  • Ensuring that all logistics activities in the facility are appropriately carried out.
  • Keeping and maintaining all shipping & receiving records for the warehouse.
  • Ownership of all forklift activities including training, servicing/maintenance of equipment and tracking of pre-trip documentation.
  • Interacting with other departments to ensure the proper flow of materials into and out of all areas of the facility.
  • Ensuring compliance of all corporate policies and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules while conducting work functions.
  • Assigning and supervising the day-to-day work activity flow of all warehouse staff within operating labor budget.
  • Daily completion of shift paperwork, reports and timecards.
  • Manage and maintain all shipping and inventory records.
  • Supervise the coordination of logistics (TL, LTL and UPS/small package) including a fleet of 5 vehicles and drivers.
  • Liaison with all internal and external partners to ensure appropriate and timely flow of materials into and out of factory to meet customer delivery and service levels.
  • Achieve results and bring out the best in people by: developing relevant job design and ensuring appropriate staffing to deliver the department's strategic operating plan and short-term objectives.​
  • Collaboratively create development plans and coach individuals to enable them to achieve optimal results, including performance management, rewards and selection process.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications: 

Position-Specific Skills Required

  • 7+ years distribution center, logistics, or warehouse experience required including at least 3+ years management experience in a complex DC environment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage time and meet all specified deadlines.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English.

Technical Skills Required

  • Current forklift certification and OSHA train-the-trainer certified.
  • Valid California Driver’s License.
  • Proficient in MS Office: Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Strong prioritizing and time management skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.

Education/Training Required

  • High School degree, diploma or a GED equivalent qualification from a certified college.
  • Bachelor’s degree or associate’s degree in supply chain and/or operations management preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee could be exposed to extreme heat, moving mechanical parts, wet and/or humid conditions, electrical shock, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, all weather conditions, vibrations and loud noise.  The noise level in the work environment is usually loud, but not excessive.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds which includes occasional and repetitive lifting.
  • Sitting 40%, walking 30%, standing 30%.
  • Fingering computer keyboard. 
  • Mobility in plant.
  • Long periods of standing, twisting and bending.
  • Warehouse environment.
  • Position involves computer work and use of other standard office equipment.
