Job Description:
The General Manager leads the staff and operations of the Fresh Leaf Farms operations in both Salinas, CA and Yuma AZ. The General Manager is depended on to identify and implement opportunities for improvement, develop capital projects and provide the required capital and production cost information necessary to formulate an ROI, recommend and lead organizational change, create the processes necessary to produce new products, coach and develop staff and ensure that a productive, safe and quality conscious work environment thrives.

Requirements:
- BA/BS in Business, Operations Management or Mechanical, Industrial of Agricultural Engineering
- Minimum of 10 years of combined experience in the areas of: Manufacturing, Engineering, Manufacturing Management and General Business
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills to support cost management and process enhancement opportunities
- Working knowledge of financial analysis principles
- Project management
- Effective communication skills to bring consensus among growers, harvesters, sales marketing and finance
- Excellent time management, organizational and team building skills
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Provide day-to-day leadership and management to a manufacturing organization in support of the company’s mission and core values
- Partner with co-owner, EVP and executive team to develop a strategic plan and annual budget
- Directs plant level support functions including engineering, distribution, food safety and quality assurance to ensure alignment with overall plant operations
- Drive superior plant performance and build the culture by gaining an in depth understanding of plant processes and employee behaviors
- Represent the company with customers, employees, the community and business partners
- Lead plant efforts to achieve and surpass sales, profitability, cash flow, yield, specification metrics and business goals and objectives
- Drive plant performance across all objectives (safety, food safety, quality, service, cost, continuous improvement, maintenance reliability) as demonstrated through key metrics
- Lead the efforts with plant leaders to standardize and drive operational efficiencies focused on a continuous improvement and machine efficiencies strategy
- Build a culture of continuous improvement across all objectives by focusing on standards, processes, and behaviors demonstrated by implementation of and compliance to work processes (use of tools, leadership skills, and engagement leading to faster and more complete adoption)
- Partner with Sales leadership to drive and support overall market growth
- Ensure full compliance with internal and external standards demonstrated through audit results, severity and frequency of incidents, etc.
- Support the analysis, development and execution of initiatives including product strategies, capital plans, staffing plans, etc.
- Manage risk at all phases and achieve expected results within budget and on schedule
- Ensure robust plant safety, security and training are in place and that operations are in compliance with all required regulations
- Motivate and lead a high-performance management team through recruitment, training and development
- Build the skill set within the organization by assessing and developing talent, setting and holding people to clear and high expectations, developing and executing succession plans
- Negotiate leases, service and material contracts
- Provide facility management and manage expansion projects
- Serve as the lead role representing manufacturing for new product development and product enhancement
- Provide technical expertise in the areas of food process engineering and manufacturing.
- Ensure that the principles of quality control, food safety, GMPs, HACCP, and sanitation are implemented
