JOB FILLED - Production Team Leader

Job Description: 

Vegpro International Inc. is a Canadian leader for the innovation of its agricultural production of baby leaves, salad and vegetable, supplying customers in North America all year long under a well-known label, Fresh Attitude. Our pre-washed and ready-to-eat packaged salads are available in all major grocery chains in Canada with a strong a rapidly growing presence in the US.

We have purchased approximately 700 acres of land in Coldstream and we will build a produce packing plant of 70,000 square foot state. We intend to begin operations in BC starting in the spring/early summer of 2018 and in response to the strong growth opportunity, the company is seeking a Production Team Leader.

Requirements: 
  • High school diploma
  • 6 months to one (1) year of experience in a similar position in a production environment
  • Possess the potential and skills needed to manage a work team
  • Basic computer skills
  • Proficiency in spoken and written in English and oral Spanish is an asset
  • Knowing how to count
  • Knowledge of HACCP standards is an asset
  • Knowledge and understanding of the production schedule is an important asset

Responsibilities & Duties: 

Organize and ensure the smooth running of production operations, according to established standards to minimize downtime and meet production deadlines:

  • Retrieve the necessary equipment for the production day
  • Ensure that the production line and all equipment are functional to start production on time
  • Assign agency staff and employees to different jobs according to each person's skills
  • Ensure that orders are made according to established standards and coordinate all production changes occurring during the shift
  • Ensure compliance with the productivity and quality standards of the product during his shift and report any irregular situation to the production supervisor or the person concerned
  • Assist, as needed, with employees in carrying out their work

Coordinate the work of the employees:

  • Organize rotation between workstations, manage breaks and downtime
  • Coordinate the training of new employees and follow up with the production supervisor on the evolution of learning
  • Check the performance of employees
  • Communicate any employee issues requiring a disciplinary notice to the production supervisor and ensure its application

Perform the required administrative tasks and any other related tasks:

  • Compile and verify the different daily reports in the HACCP system
  • Complete the production report.
