Jacobs Malcolm & Burtt is a global asparagus marketing, packing and shipping company in California. We represent growers in California, Northern, Central and Baja Mexico, and Peru and ship asparagus worldwide.
Our goal is to deliver the highest quality, freshest and best tasting asparagus to the consumer in the United States, Canada, Europe, Asia, Australia, and Japan.
We adhere to industry standard food safety and cold chain processes throughout the growing, packing, storage and shipping of product.
In addition to shipping asparagus year round, we ship melons and pomegranates at various times of the year.
We are looking for an experienced Production Manager to organize and oversee the packing/repacking of asparagus. You will be responsible of ensuring the smooth running of a production line and the quality of its output. It is of key importance that you can direct personnel towards maximum performance, communicate effectively and positively with personnel.
The goal is to efficiently produce a product that exceeds our customers expectations. If you are up to it, we’d like to talk to you.
- Experience in the produce industry (Handling of Asparagus would be of preference)
- Experience with “FAMOUS” software
- Bilingual
- Experience as a production director
- Forklift driving experience
- Organize workflow/work-orders to meet specific deadlines
- Review quality of asparagus when receiving
- Communicate with Management/Sales Staff daily for orders
- Monitor production and calculate daily costs of production
- Determine the amount of necessary workforce and schedule/plan accordingly
- Enforce health and safety policies
