JOB FILLED - Sales Forecasting Analyst

Job Description: 

The Sales Forecasting Analyst (SFA) works closely with the Account Managers to ensure that sales forecasting is completed to allow product to be sourced on a timely basis. The SFA will analyze historical shipments, sell-through and seasonality of each product to ensure optimal production schedules to meet consumer demand. Additionally, the position will analyze if forecasts are reasonable given past product performance and with analytical tools help the AM’s determine the optimal product mix.  We are looking for a team-oriented person with solid analytical and problem solving skills

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Supports Account Managers in completing sound sales forecasts on year-round basis
  • Analyses trends, seasonality and establishes weekly spread per item and market area, for each customer group
  • Establishes forecast planning schedules and ensures the Sales team’s adherence to timelines
  • Ensures accuracy of forecasts in planning system (Prophix) vs. Account Plan (proforma)
  • Establishes forecasting templates for new items and sets up items in Prophix
  • Ensures item and customer data maintenance in Prophix through regular audits
  • Presents forecast drafts for review and approval by COO
  • Maintains and updates customer advertisements plans, and monitors ad item availability with Inventory Managers to expose any shortages.  Initiates action to correct any shortages.
  • Collaborates with Inventory Managers on contract grown items to ensure availability meets sales plan on weekly basis
  • Prepares weekly corporate sales reports
  • Prepares ad hoc plan vs. actual analyses
  • Analytical sales operations or accounting/financial analysis experience
  • Experience with MS Excel at an advanced level. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong planning, organizing and project management skills with focus on meeting deadlines
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize and manage ever-changing priorities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to daily work cross-departmentally in an even-keeled manner
Education: 
  • AA or Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance or operational management
  • Degree in Horticulture a plus
Skills: 
  • Analytical sales operations or accounting/financial analysis experience
  • Experience with MS Excel at an advanced level. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong planning, organizing and project management skills with focus on meeting deadlines
