Job Description:
Vertical Foods is a grower and packer of specialty fruit in Central California. We are most known for our expertise in Fresh Figs and innovative approach to bringing consumer’s a better specialty fruit-eating experience. Vertical Foods is a sister company to; Misionero, Green Wave Farms and TerraFresh Organics under the Harbinger Group family of companies.
Our team is expanding and currently looking for an experienced citrus sales professional with a proven background in California oranges and mandarins. The position will manage a group of existing accounts to build strong, long-term relationships with key contacts while developing new business in retail, wholesale, foodservice and export.

Requirements:
- Able to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist and reach as needed.
- Must be able to travel by conventional means including aircraft
- Able to lift and move up to 30 pounds occasionally
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Managing relationships and providing exceptional customer service to all customers
- Use of all available sales data to measure programs, new product introductions, annual sales plans, and product performance evaluations to establish rankings
- Recommend pricing and promotional initiatives; including planning and analysis, to achieve sales goals and improve company profitability
- Make sales visits and participate in trade shows and business events as required
- Develop and implement strategies for expanding the company’s customer base
- Be responsible for hiring sales and support staff as necessary
- Be accountable for the overall sales performance in the citrus category
Education:
- Five years’ experience in California citrus sales and marketing
- Ability to plan and manage at both strategic and operational levels
- Strong analytical, organizational and sales aptitude skills
- Proven customer management abilities with clear written and verbal communication
- Proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word & Outlook)
- Experience using Famous Software a plus
- Bachelor’s Degree
