We are currently looking for a Produce Buyer in Union City, CA.
As a Produce Buyer you will be responsible for the procurement of predetermined products from vendors at the best available prices consistent with quality standards in the company.

- Negotiate the pricing and securing product from suppliers
- Purchase products at the most favorable price, consistent with quality, quantity, specification requirements and other established factors
- Establish and adjust selling prices by monitoring costs, competitive factors and supply and demand
- Management of perishable inventory purchased by daily review of item usage, sales, inventory adjustments, and the creation of purchase orders to replenish inventory
- Compile weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly usage/profit reports for review and budget compliance
- Bi‐lingual Preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Business, Business, Supply Chain Management, Procurement or 5+ year’s equivalent experience
- 3 + Years of buying experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Software applications with ability to use spreadsheets, programs, and reports
- Knowledge of agricultural business, produce sales, and/or retail buying a plus
- Able to effectively manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and able to accomplish team objectives
- Attention to detail and accuracy, with strong organizational skills
- Proven vendor relationship and negotiation skills; must possess tact, diplomacy and firmness in vendor negotiations
- Adaptability/flexibility, with the ability to react quickly to changing requirements from internal and external conditions while maintaining good communication with all parties involved
- Strong interpersonal skills to demonstrate teamwork, leadership and creative flexibility while dealing with all levels of the organization
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks to ensure timely completion
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Capacity to manage one’s own time
- Possession of a valid driver’s license
- Travel up to 50% to include possible international travel
