Job Description: 

The Sr. Sales Representative will negotiate and direct the distribution of commodities to their customers. They will report directly to the Vice President of Sales to both establish and fulfill sales quotas and goals. The Sales Associate will also collaborate with the Director of Business Development to determine new customer prospects.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Make daily sales calls to a diverse portfolio of customers including retail, foodservice, and wholesale operations
  • Ensure each customer receives outstanding customer service
  • Negotiate and manage customer pricing, pick-up, and delivery schedules
  • Meet with customers to discuss business opportunities including promotions and packaging options
  • Monitor competition utilizing marketplace information on products, pricing, and delivery
  • Work as a team and effectively communicate with all departments (Procurement, Operations/Quality Control, Accounting, and Food Safety)
  • Optimize sales strategies by analyzing customer specifications and market sales data
  • Maintain knowledge of current pricing and market conditions while informing customers of crop conditions
  • Handle customer claims and negotiate settlements
  • Order processing, pricing, and coordinating transportation needs for assigned customers
  • Occasional travel to trade shows and visits to customers, growers, markets, and cold storage facilities


  • 5-10 years of produce sales experience   
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality
  • Excellent data entry, analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective organizational and time management skills
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently or as a team
  • Customer service and negotiation skills
  • Friendly and engaging personality
  • Weekend availability is expected if/as needed
