A leading wholesale produce distributor is looking for a Retail Produce Merchandiser in Charlotte, NC to serve as a trusted partner to grocery retailers by bringing hands-on merchandising support, expert training, and sales-driving strategies to produce departments across the region.
What You’ll Do
- Collaborate with retail partners to execute customized merchandising plans and drive produce department performance.
- Train store teams on produce handling, presentation, shrink management, and seasonal trends.
- Provide in-store support, including culling, setup, and resolving quality or inventory concerns on the spot.
- Share market insights and sales data to inspire strategic product placement and boost case volume.
- Communicate real-time updates on product availability, quality, new items, and company initiatives.
- Build strong working relationships with Produce Managers, store staff, and retail leadership.
- Act as a brand ambassador and problem-solver, representing the company’s core values in every interaction.
What You Bring
- 3–5 years of experience in produce retail, merchandising, or wholesale (organic experience a plus).
- Strong communication skills and a proactive, collaborative mindset.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and Power BI preferred.
- Solid understanding of produce pricing, freshness standards, and merchandising techniques.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regularly (including overnight stays).
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. and work in varied store environments (temperature, humidity, noise, etc.).

Work Environment & Schedule
- Monday–Friday base schedule with flexibility for business needs.
- Frequent travel between stores with occasional extended hours and overnight stays.
- Active, hands-on work on the retail floor, often requiring lifting, bending, and walking for extended periods.
