We are a leading importer, exporter, and distributor of premium fresh fruit and are seeking a motivated Business Development Associate with a focus on new product sales and retail account development.
This is a hands-on sales role where you’ll work closely with procurement, logistics, and operations to develop new product sales and manage key retail and wholesale accounts, coordinate orders, and support the growth of imported fruit programs including citrus, pomegranates, tropicals, berries, and grapes - as well as consumer packaged goods (CPG)
Key Responsibilities
- Support the launch and expansion of new programs and product categories in retail and wholesale channels.
- Manage existing customer relationships with core products while identifying new opportunities within retail and foodservice segments.
- Coordinate the full sales process: quoting, order entry, logistics coordination, inventory tracking, and post-sale follow-up.
- Enter and manage orders using ERP, Excel, and Outlook.
- Maintain pricing schedules, monitor supply plans, and help match product to demand.
- Partner with procurement and logistics teams to ensure smooth fulfillment and proactive communication.
- Support invoicing, receivables, customer service inquiries, and sales reporting.
- Participate in customer meetings, trade events, and occasional travel.
Qualifications
- At least 2–3 years of experience in fresh produce sales or customer-facing produce operations.
- Knowledge of seasonal fresh fruit programs and retail produce expectations preferred.
- Strong communication and follow-through with a customer-first mindset.
- Highly organized with good Excel and ERP system skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, seasonal environment.
