We are looking for a Corporate Controller to provide leadership and support to the accounting and finance teams that serve our growing organization.
About the Role
The Corporate Controller will provide leadership and support to our accounting and finance teams while helping strengthen the financial processes behind our affiliated companies. This role is responsible for reliable reporting, efficient month-end close, budgeting and forecasting, internal controls, cash flow, compliance, and team development.
Success in this role calls for a hands-on, self-directed finance professional who brings sound judgment, practical solutions, and clear accountability. You will work closely with operations and executive leadership, translating financial information into useful insight in a fast-moving agricultural environment.
The position will spend time in Heber, CA, and may also be based out of our Yuma, AZ or Salinas, CA offices.
What You’ll Do
As our Corporate Controller, you will:
- Provide leadership and day-to-day support to accounting and finance teams across affiliated companies.
- Deliver consolidated financial statements and management reporting that are accurate, timely, and useful.
- Maintain a disciplined monthly reporting cycle and ensure financial results are completed on schedule.
- Guide month-end close activities, including reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting review processes.
- Coordinate budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning across the organization.
- Evaluate and strengthen internal controls that protect company assets and improve consistency.
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, liquidity, and debt compliance.
- Collaborate with operations leaders to turn financial data into timely, practical business insight.
- Create clear dashboards and management reports that highlight performance, trends, and priorities.
- Coordinate audit support and maintain compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Coach, develop, and support members of the accounting and finance team.
- Partner with the CFO on financial stability, scalable processes, strategic growth, and continuous improvement.
What We’re Looking For
The right candidate will combine strong technical accounting knowledge with a collaborative, solutions-oriented leadership style, including:
- 8+ years of comprehensive accounting and finance experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Progressive Controller-level responsibility within a company of significant scale.
- A track record of supporting accounting teams and consistently meeting financial deadlines.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, procedures, and GAAP reporting.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with general ledger systems.
- The ability to prioritize and perform effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Clear communication, sound leadership judgment, and a commitment to team development.
- Experience in agriculture, fresh produce, manufacturing, perishable food, or multi-site operations preferred.
- CPA, CMA, MBA, or public accounting audit background preferred.
- Spanish/English bilingual skills preferred but not required.
- Famous software experience is a plus.
