For the past 15 years, Happy Dirt has been supplying the Raleigh/Durham area and beyond with the finest organic and conventional produce. Ours is a simple story of how nature’s heroes-the pollinators and protectors, clean water and sunshine-under the knowing hands of our farmers, produce and deliver healthy food for you, in balance with nature.

We currently have an opening for a Produce Sales & Purchasing Assistant.

As a Produce Sales & Purchasing Assistant you must be able to manage a large amount of multi-faceted projects at the same time.  You must also be able to manage a large and diverse group of customers. You must be able to complete projects and tasks on time or early, with attention paid to detail and above satisfactory completion. You must be able to adapt and thrive in a team based atmosphere, where everyone is striving towards the same goals. You must be able to market Happy Dirt logistical needs effectively to a wide array of transporters, while taking into account, price, reputation and travel time.

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Effectively process and manage customer orders from the time they are received until the product ships, utilizing the industry database systems. 
  • Provide support in managing e-commerce transactions. 
  • Monitor inventory levels.
  • Track customer orders through delivery.
  • Ensure special customer requirements are accurate, current, and noted on orders. 
  • Provide professional customer service in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on process improvement and contribution to improving teamwork and workflow.
  • Represent Happy Dirt in an ethical and professional manner in all interactions with growers, co-workers, suppliers, and customers. 
  • Assist buyer with purchasing decisions and complete purchase orders.
Qualifications: 
  • Experience in an administrative or sales support role with focus on customer service and data entry.
  • Experience in the produce industry. 
  • Strong computer skills are a must, with proficiency in MS Office, Google Docs, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram.
  • Experience with social media marketing preferred.
  • Organized, with strong attention to detail.
  • Proactive, with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Associate's Degree or equivalent is preferred.
