Hazel Technologies is searching for a Business Development Manager to contribute to the achievements of the organization’s sales & marketing goals. Residing in the Central Valley of California. Territories include greater Fresno south to greater Bakersfield.
Position Description:
The Business Development Manager will help chart the course on current and future products by identifying and expanding upon existing and future market opportunities to maintain a robust and constant pipeline to the sales channel. The role will be heavily focused on stone fruit and cherry categories.
Responsibilities:
- Assist Director of Business Development in analyzing current and future market opportunities for existing products and those in development
- Identify and interact with prospective customers to define value proposition and timelines for account transition to sales team
- Identify user improvements to existing product offerings
- Interact with customers undergoing trials on existing preharvest & postharvest platforms and performing data analysis
- Execute trials, analyze and present data to key stakeholders
- Assist commercial and postharvest teams with grower visits, product implementation and provide technical support (onsite and virtual) to operations and sales teams
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, operations, legal, regulatory & postharvest teams
Requirements:
- Experience working in stone fruit and/or cherry industries required (grower, shipper, packaging, MRO, etc.)
- Strong communication skills
- Possess strong interpersonal and creative problem-solving skills
- Must be able to prioritize deliverables, analyze data, and thrive as a self-starter
- Enthusiasm to develop professional skills related to business development, operations, sales & marketing, and entrepreneurship
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and cultivate relationships with cross-functional teams
- Exposure to enterprise (B2B) sales
- Proficiency with Microsoft programs (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint)
- Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred
- Degree from accredited 4-year university
- Travel outside of USA will be less than 15%, however travel within Central Valley could be as high as 70%
